Versagel ME products are patented gelled emollients (mineral oil-free alternative for labeling) that are suitable for use in many cosmetic and personal care applications. Versagel ME products use Hydrogenated Polyisobutene (PIB) as the base and they exhibit extraordinarily good clarity, excellent thermal and UV stability, and versatile chemical compatibility.
A unique property of these materials is their suspension capability for fine particles. Depending on the particle size and surface affinity, these materials can be utilized to maintain stable suspensions of zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, talc, decorative glitters, and more. Versagel ME products have excellent clarity that allows unique items such as glitter, wax beads, and other materials to be suspended.
They are easier and safer to handle and formulate than gels that use metal stearates or fumed silica. They provide fragrance retention in skincare products and furnish waterproofing properties to sunscreen products. Furthermore, they are hydrophobic, thermally reversible, and without syneresis (oil bleed).
