Description
TEGO® Carbomer 340 FD is a high crosslinked acrylic acid polymer. Fast dispersible viscosity builder, gelling agent and emulsion stabilizer for high viscous formulations. Especially suitable for the preparation of clear water or alcohol-based gels and cosmetic gels. Add TEGO® Carbomer 340 FD early in the formulation to allow it time to thoroughly wet out and disperse. Use propeller stirrer. Dissolver or rotor-stator-homogenizer may be used as well. Intensive shear may lead to a viscosity reduction of the final product and should be avoided. Neutralize near the end of the process so that all of the ingredients can mix well before the viscosity is increased. For neutralization use triethanolamine, tetrahydroxypropyl ethylenediamine, sodium hydroxide or other inorganic bases.

Processing of TEGO® Carbomer 340 FD is much faster than the processing of the corresponding product TEGO® Carbomer 140.
