Biochemica Hemp Oil Refined Organic is a highly refined low color oil obtained from the seed of hemp, Cannabis sativa , by cold expeller press method. Hemp seed oil is valued for cosmetics and toiletries due to its high content of essential fatty acids (one of the highest for natural oils at ~76%!), which helps the action of the hydrolipidic coat, reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). This product is highly suitable for cosmetics and toiletries due to its light color and low odor. Hemp seed oil posses one of the highest polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) contents of all the natural oils. It provides the four essential fatty acids beneficial to the skin: linoleic acid (LA, 18:2ω6), α(alpha)-linolenic acid (LNA, 18:3ω3), γ(gamma)-linolenic acid (GLA, 18:3ω6) and stearidonic acid (SDA).
Biochemica Hemp Oil Refined Organic may be used in body care, soaps, facial creams, lotions and sunscreens to impart moisturization, particularly for dry, damaged skin (i.e. eczema, psoriasis and mastalgia). Hemp seed oil is also one of the driest feeling natural oils available, being absorbed quickly into the skin. It provides high fluidity and excellent lubricity without being greasy.
