Description

HallStar® SCS is a solid, high active, anionic surfactant in fine noodle form. Its intended application is as the primary foamer in topical personal cleansing products. HallStar® SCS is the sulfation product of vegetal alcohols and is at least 94% pure Sodium Coco-Sulfate.

Unlike Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Coco-Sulfate is manufactured without removal of all the higher molecular weight fatty acids that are integral to the vegetable oil. Cleansers made with HallStar® SCS instead of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate will therefore typically have denser and creamier foam and may be translucent rather than clear.

Extensive handling of HallStar® SCS is likely to generate dust, which may be irritating to the respiratory tract and induce coughing. Maintain adequate ventilation. Avoid dispersion of dust in air and prevent electrostatic charge build-up during transfer by using common bonding and grounding techniques as required.
