A Rich and Caring Cholesterol Body Butter that contains ingredients to moisturize and re-enforce the natural skin barrier.

This Rich and Caring Cholesterol Body Butter formulation features TEGO® Sterol KCS which is a skin-identical cholesterol derivative. Cholesterol and cholesterol derivatives are a major component of the extracellular lipid matrix through their function in the lamellar structure formation. These natural, bio-identical products stabilize emulsions and enhance penetration of active ingredients in the lipid matrix.

TEGO® Care 450 MB is incorporated into the formulation to provide emulsion stabilization, moisturizing properties, and caring skin feel.

Procedure for Rich and Caring Cholesterol Body Butter

Heat Phase A and B to 75°C.
Add Phase B to Phase A without stirring*.
Homogenize.
Cool with gentle stirring.
Add Phase C below 40°C.
Homogenize again for a short time.
Add Phase D and E.
Adjust the pH to 5.5 – 6.5.

*Important: If Phase A must be charged into the vessel first, Phase B must be added without stirring.
